In a world filled with big box stores and national chains, family-owned businesses have become a rare treasure. At International Tile & Marble, Ltd, it’s the strength of family and a shared commitment to excellence that have made us the trusted ceramic tile importer and distributor for Virginia and northeastern North Carolina for over 40 years.

Founded in 1984 by Carl Sr, his wife Mary, and their son Carl Jr, International Tile & Marble began as a true labor of love. From sales calls and deliveries (in a well-loved furniture truck!) to consultations and bookkeeping, the Pope family wore every hat. Soon after, daughter Angie joined the team, and together, they built a company rooted in values they hold dear—honesty, integrity, and exceptional customer service.

From our humble beginnings in a 2,000-square-foot space in Norfolk, we've grown into a thriving 22,500-square-foot facility in Chesapeake, with a second location serving the Outer Banks. Each location features a beautiful showroom where homeowners, designers, and contractors can explore the latest in tile trends, get expert advice, and bring their design visions to life.

While the founding team may now be a little older (and maybe a bit grayer), their passion hasn’t changed. Today, they’re joined by a dedicated and knowledgeable staff who share their mission and values. We’re incredibly grateful to the many contractors, designers, homeowners, and friends who have supported us over the years.
